Activity 105 DONE! woohoo!
We are officially done with activity 105. Due to missing a day of class last week for Soul Writers, CP groups 003 and 004, today you had to turn in your company poster and completed packets. All analysis questions had to be done and the packet needed to be filled in.
Group 003- thank you for those of you who typed out your analysis in class today. You showed such great effort. You do not need to finish typing these- It was a little too ambitious for our short class period.
Honors- You need to complete your individual activity 105 papers by THURSDAY. Have it already printed or emailed to me BY THURSDAY!
Below is my example.
example paper
Please bring in food labels (with the nutrition facts like how many calories and grams of protein) for class on Thursday.
Tomorrow I will be at Marist with the AVID kids. You will be working on completing activity 108 during class.

Artificial Bone Lab
We're off to the races with the artificial bone lab. You should have the article from Wednesday as well as the lab packet from today. (Anyone from the Soul Writer's production should get it too!)
Tomorrow and Friday will be a building and testing day. I expect everyone to keep ALL data and prototypes. We should be able to recreate any of your testing prototypes from your notes.
A rubric for the final turn-in is shown below:
Here is a real life example of how bioengineers are using technology to help patients.

Update
Week Update:
I just entered quite a few grades.
Some of you still owe me the signed grade update (parents-- a signed grade sheet for science and social studies quarter 4 grades went home this past weekend), activity 97 notes, stopping to think questions, and analysis, as well as the notebook quiz we took on Monday.
Online book for activity 97---> to the right, scroll down and you will see the online textbook link and password/username.
Notebook Quiz
We did activity 99: a whale of a tale on Tuesday and you had an evolution review sheet for homework due Wednesday.
Today in class we compared the DNA of different organisms to figure out their evolutionary relationships (activity 100). Analysis are homework and you should check your answers to last nights HW using the answer key posted below.
Group 004, tonight for HW you should work on the review sheet.
Tomorrow is studying in class for Friday's BIG evolution exam. Check the blog for an extra credit opportunity Thursday evening.

Geologic Time Scale Classwork Project
Personal time scale and geologic time scale math
Activity 92: Time for Change
Today in class we worked on Activity 92: A time for change. You defined fossil and geologic time scale in your glossary (geologic (Earth) time periods divided by the appearance and disappearance of life forms), created a personal time scale, and began working on your scaled geologic time scale using the pink cards. Tonight for homework, make sure you print some pictures of the fossils/life forms to glue to your time scale tomorrow in class.
003- complete activity 91 analysis 1-5 as well
Time scales due tomorrow at the end of the period! Also, I will give you back your solar system tests tomorrow.
